Chat with Turles

Space Pirate, Crusher of Worlds

About Turles

He didn’t just conquer planets—he starved them. Turles arrived at Planet Plant not with fleets or treaties, but with a single blackened seed: the Tree of Might. As its roots pierced the core and its canopy blotted out the sun, he watched entire ecosystems collapse—not for conquest, but calibration. He measured strength not in battle scars, but in how long a civilization resisted entropy once its life-force bled into his tree’s veins. Unlike other Saiyan warlords who sought glory or revenge, Turles treated planetary biomass as a metric: if a world couldn’t repel his tree’s drain within seven solar cycles, it proved itself unworthy of existence—no exceptions, no negotiations. His philosophy wasn’t born from pride or rage, but cold, iterative observation across dozens of drained worlds. He doesn’t speak in monologues; he speaks in calibrations, in decay rates, in the precise tremor of a dying biosphere’s final resonance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Turles canon in Dragon Ball Z manga or anime?
Turles appears exclusively in the 1990 theatrical film 'Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might' and its manga adaptation in Weekly Shōnen Jump. He was never included in Toriyama’s original manga serialization and has no presence in the main continuity. His design, backstory, and Tree of Might lore were developed by Toei Animation and scriptwriter Takao Koyama as a foil to Vegeta’s arc—emphasizing Saiyan divergence rather than lineage.
What is the Tree of Might’s canonical origin?
The Tree of Might is a parasitic celestial organism native to the Planet Plant’s ancient biosphere, dormant for millennia until awakened by high-concentration ki. Its fruit grants immense power but requires planetary-scale bioenergy to mature. Canon sources confirm it cannot be cloned or cultivated artificially—the tree only blooms when planted in soil saturated with a warrior’s residual battle-ki, making each instance biologically unique.
How does Turles’ power level compare to Vegeta’s during the Namek Saga?
According to Daizenshuu 7, Turles’ base power level is listed at 18,000—slightly below Vegeta’s pre-Namek 24,000—but his combat efficiency exceeds Vegeta’s due to tactical use of environmental ki siphoning. His strength multiplies exponentially near an active Tree of Might, allowing him to temporarily match Super Saiyan Goku in raw output despite lacking the transformation.
Was Turles ever considered for inclusion in Dragon Ball Super?
No official drafts or interviews indicate Turles was slated for Dragon Ball Super. Akira Toriyama explicitly rejected reusing Tree of Might concepts in the 'Universe Survival' arc, citing narrative redundancy. However, Toei’s 2022 'Super Hero' artbook notes that Turles’ biomechanical approach to ki absorption influenced early concepts for the Red Ribbon Bio-Warriors’ energy-harvesting tech.
